HOME SWEET HOME

The dry leaves from shrubs and weeds wiped my face painfully as I ran in the dark, frantically and desperately in the thick bush farm surrounding the community of the town. I was crying and heaving from fear that had taken the shape of a human in my mind who was after my soul and had blinded me enough not to see where I was running to or who I was running from. As I ran, I kept

THE EXPERIENCE

It was an amazing thing to be alive and to know that a whole lot of us, especially our loved ones live with us. In our world, there is nothing like shadows or worries. We have come to realize that we live in a dark world. A really dark world and we can’t see but we can feel, hear, move and eat. Through feeling and touch, we came to know that we were two and so we lived like that with our loving parents. When we knew our mother was sick, it affected us too because we hate to know any one of our parents was hurt. But in the midst of all kinds of stress, troubles and sicknesses, love was

LEFT HAND BELIEF

When God made man, He made him in perfection. Nothing was amiss as what He made in pairs were perfect matches on the human body and they were all made pairs for a reason or two. The hands, for instance, were made to support each other when they are used for tedious or meticulous work. The hands work together in one way or the other and are only separated by the sides of the body where they are placed, but they are alike in most ways. So this means that there is equality to some extent among the hands.

LET MY PEOPLE GO

The recent dispute between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal government has been based on financial agreement and non settlement. Recently, the federal government made a mouth watering settlement for the ASUU members so that students can go back to resume the session that has been on hold since July 2nd. But the hopes of students were dashed mercilessly when the ASUU senior members ended their meeting with the federal government in a dead-end. The issue, which was thought to have been settled, has been postponed by the ASUU chairpersons while the government pleads with lecturers to 'return to classrooms'. Right at this period, it has become likened to the case of the dispute between Moses and Ramesses concerning the people of Israel in Egypt; in this case, it is ASUU versus the Federal government for the Nigerian students and it has been tagged 'Let My People Go'. Students all over the nation that are in their final year, who were about preparing for their final examinations have been lamenting over the current educational crisis and how badly it has affected their proposed plans after graduation while the rest of the undergraduates are just stuck in the middle. With this national battle that always determines the fates of the students, there is hardly anything anyone can do to put an end to it except the ones who possess the power; the ASUU.

THE DILAPITATED STATE OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

It is quite a  wonder when one considers education in Nigeria to be the ultimate and it turns out to be a joke. The issue of  national strikes has become the most disturbing as the problems of financial settlement never gets solved by the power house. How can it  be solved in a nation with cobwebs of problem wrapped around its delicate affairs? We live in a modern world where the pursuit of higher education is paramount but in a situation where our educational system suffers annual epileptic seizures, we can't but afford pitiable academic experiences.
Year in year out, we are often threatened by warning strikes thereby reducing optimum academic progress. The basis of education is gradually becoming less than what it originally was. With the alarming rate of unemployment in the country, one begins to wonder about the importance of higher education and opt for desperate means.
The hopeless strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities on July 2nd, has created a platform of options for the youths, which is limiting. One cannot finish school because of the strike and cannot be gainfully employed because he or she is yet to have a qualifying degree. With limitations as this for the seeming leaders of tomorrow, we can't but conclude that the stagnation is strongly supervised by the leaders of today.  Yet, we have been  adviced to dream big and never give up. That is one big nightmare that  i will gladly give up..

The Irony Of Life

The supreme irony of life is that hardly any one gets out of it alive

The Glory of A New Day..

The glory of a new day begins when the first streak of sun rise reminds you that you have been given a chance to live again. With everyday that comes, live and live like never before.
